A rare first edition of a very important and influential text on demonology by a scientist, esotericist, and philosopher of the Byzantine Empire. Gaulmyn, the editor was a celebrated linguist and scholar of Hellenic and Oriental literature.
In this work Psellus introduces a classification system of daemons based on the nature of the daemons. The sin with which they tempt humans, the month in which their power is strongest, etc.
According to Psellus there are six diffrent types of daemons. 1. igneous. 2. aerial. 3. terrestial. 4. aqueous. 5. subterraneans. 6. heliophobic.
