This is perhaps Eliphas Levi's most important and influential work on Magic. This first volume which is complete in itself with an individual index is concerned with the theory of magic whereas the second volume which we unfortunatly do not have deals with the practical side of magic. What especially is unique about this volume is its extreamly good condition. The text is very bright and very clean except for a few pages which is uncommon for this first edition. Eliphas Levi is part of the canon of magical writers and first editions are very rare and sought after.
