Complete work in 2 volumes (17cm X 10cm) in full marbled brown leather. Covers preserved very well; blunted corners.. Spines decorated with flowered gildings, Spine of one volume is missing part of the top. Fresh and clean interiors. Text printed well on cream-coloured paper. Title page Bicolours.

CONTENTS: Le Comte de Gabalis ", ou Entretiens sur les Sciences secrètes (*), par Nicolas-Pierre-Henri Montfaucon de Villars. Ouvrage curieux paru en 1670, trente ans après la mort de son auteur ; pour les amateurs de sciences occultes et les ennemis de Racine… " Abbé louche, brûleur de granges, habitué de la Bastille, il a fini assassiné sur la route de Paris à Lyon par des sylphes " (sic, Voltaire).
